I only remember myself without hair. I was five years old when I was diagnosed with Alopecia and lost all of my hair my kindergarten year. My family and friends always taught me it didn’t matter if I had hair or not, that I was a beautiful person inside and out. They never let me forget that. I was never treated different than anyone else and that is the way I liked it. I loved myself and knew I was a good person because I believed my family and friends. I knew I could achieve anything with or without hair. My love besides my family and friends is gymnastics. My coaches and teammates have also taught me to believe in myself and never give up. Believe me, sometimes it would have been easier to give up but I did not and will not! My gymnastics family is a big part of who I am today. I am just finishing up my Sophomore year at Osseo High School where I am a cheerleader and working very hard to have good grades. Looking forward to attending college in a few years! ~ Taylor Sorsveen
I am blessed and thankful to be on this journey with my daughter, Taylor, she is beautiful inside and out and has a huge heart. Her father and I could not be prouder of the wonderful person she has become and her ability to work through her struggles with such a positive attitude. Taylor has taught me to be strong and confident and to never give up……maybe take a different path if needed to reach your goals, but to never quit. I have no doubt she will always strive to be the best she can be while always helping others on her way! ~ Kathy Sorsveen
