Maddison Mertz, or Moo to those who knew her, was a second grader from Victoria, MN. Maddison was a happy, active, beautiful girl. She loved gymnastics, her sister, her friends, swimming, dancing, her dogs, and her family. On November 18, 2016 Maddison was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma. Maddison passed away May 29, 2017, three days after her 8th birthday.
In the seven months that Maddison fought for her life, she demonstrated the strength of a superhero. She was a shining star and immeasurably touched the lives of those around her. Maddison was a miracle to all who knew her, and after her death, in her name, 'Maddison Mertz's Miracles' was founded through Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
Her foundation seeks to fund Pediatric Brain Cancer Research so other families, friends and communities won't have to endure the loss Maddison's friends and loved ones feel. We believe a world without childhood cancer is possible.
