The past days have proven that kindness truly is contagious, and that there is so much good that people want to share.
I believe this project has been impactful, not because of the unconventionality of carrying a red chair across 35W, but because we all have this deep desire to belong and feel connected.
I am excited to announce that Steller Kindness Project is in the beginning stages of pursuing a 501(c)3 status!
Although this project is growing, I am committed to staying grounded in why I started it in the first place. I wanted to create a platform to share quiet acts of kindness, and the simple idea that Impacting another person doesn’t take a grand gesture, or a certain dollar amount.
These projects are a success if even ONE person feels less alone. This is not about quantity, or exposure. This is about truly seeing people, and recognizing that their life is equally as valuable as your own.
We have received numerous messages about people wanting to help out (totally rad, you guys!) and we are now actively working on the volunteer opportunity portion! In order to create more chances to get others involved, we will need to get creative with funding! Up until now it has been from my own personal $$, and that will continue! But in order for it to grow, I would love your help!
Check out our GoFundMe campaign to learn more about how donations will be utilized, and please reach out if you have any questions/concerns!
Never underestimate the power behind the smallest act of kindness.
